Ignite for Ages 13 – 17: Saturday Afternoon Class

In the second half of the year, young actors will push their boundaries as they master both the high stakes of live theater and the subtle precision of the camera. Term 3 is an intensive, production-focused block dedicated entirely to developing, polishing, and perfecting their ensemble and solo material for the Annual Showcase at the end of the term. Students will apply advanced stagecraft, character depth, and professional discipline to deliver a compelling live performance for a public audience.

Following the showcase, Term 4 shifts focus to the specialized world of screen acting. Participants will dive into the technical and creative demands of acting for the camera, exploring screen truth, framing, shot types, and the nuances of self-taping and on-camera auditions. Through sophisticated challenges and practical industry-relevant exercises, Semester 2 empowers teenage artists to take creative risks, diversify their portfolios, and confidently command both the stage and the screen.

Ready to join the fun? Term 3 kicks off in late July and runs until mid-September, with the Annual Showcase taking place on Saturday, 19 September. Then, Term 4 starts in mid-October and wraps up in early December, closing with an Open Studio session showcasing their screen skills to family and friends.
