We’re glad you’re here.

The Joan is the heart of the creative west. Where arts and culture meets community, where we make art, love art and share art. Fine music, contemporary music; all kinds of drama, dance, installation, mixed media, ideas, circus and song.

It’s all part of our story at The Joan.

Join Andy Bromberger, Musician and Lecturer of Classical Music, for an online talk this Wednesday 15 September 11am - 12.30pm as part of our Art & Music Talks series. The piano was invented about 300 years ago. There were keyboard instruments before this time but none gave the composer both the ability to play dynamics and a sound loud enough for a concert performance. Then the piano was invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in 1700. Its impact on the musical has been likened to the invention of the steam engine in the industrial world. All tickets are $15 and includes a Zoom link to access on the day of the event.
