Tracing the origins of orchestral sound

East meets west in this awe-inspiring concert, as Penrith Youth Orchestra gives a guided tour of the ‘Old World’ with key stops in Paris, Vienna, Saint Petersburg and Moscow. Open your ears to the strains of Tchaikovsky’s Russian Choral and Overture and sing along to Bizet’s famous Habanera.

The young virtuosi of the Valda Silvy Ensemble introduce the program with an invigorating presentation of Beethoven’s first symphony, as arranged for a chamber outfit of piano, flute and strings.

Join in this celebration of youthful artistry and witness the bright future of classical music.
