Donate Today to Share the Magic of the Q
Artists in Greater Western Sydney are creating bold, original theatre—and they need your support.
Mulgoa Stories, Q Theatre’s residency program, exists to nurture new plays from early development to fully-realised productions. It provides local artists with the time, space, and resources to create theatrically viable work—stories that reflect our location, communities, voices, and experiences.
With your support, this program will:
Develop new Australian plays from page to stage.
Amplify the voices of Penrith and Greater Western Sydney artists.
Provide essential creative, technical, and production support.
One residency is currently funded in 2026, with the potential for more if additional support is secured.
Q Theatre Company: Where Western Sydney Stories Take Centre Stage
For over 60 years, Q Theatre Company has been the cornerstone of professional performance in Western Sydney. From its pioneering roots as a lunchtime theatre in Sydney’s CBD to its permanent home in Penrith, the Q has remained fiercely committed to a single mission: creating high-quality, professional theatre that reflects the lives, diversity, and spirit of our region.
We are more than a venue; we are a creative engine. We provide a professional platform for local artists to thrive through the Mulgoa Stories residency, where new Western Sydney narratives are nurtured from spark to stage. We also believe in the power of the next generation, hosting RIFF, our high school theatre festival that gives young performers their first taste of the professional spotlight.
Our impact is also fuelled by a commitment to performance training for all ages and abilities. Through various Studio Q workshops and our Q Theatre Performance Ensembles, we provide year-round training and performance opportunities. Our learning ecosystem extends to holiday workshops and intensive masterclasses, offering accessible entry points for beginners and specialised development for emerging artists.
