A Musical Affair: Celebrating the Legacy of Musical Theatre

Olivia is a proud Chilean–Greek Australian actress, singer, and songwriter, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Music. She made her feature film debut in Thor: Love and Thunder and recently voiced Gabriella in Like a Photon’s The Sloth Lane / A Sloth Story, now streaming on Binge. You can also catch Olivia starring in new Stan Original series Watching You as the role of Tess!

Olivia originated the role of Arabia in Moulin Rouge! The Musical Australia and has become synonymous with the iconic Vanessa in In The Heights, portraying her in every critically acclaimed Australian staging of the production. Her stage credits also include the Australian premiere of The Bodyguard: The Musical, Rosalía in Opera Australia’s West Side Story on Sydney Harbour, and Anathema in Good Omens: The Musical.

A standout on The Voice Australia Season 10, Olivia turned all four chairs and joined Team Jessica Mauboy. She went on to release her debut album Godly Ties, which she co-wrote and co-produced, and has since showcased her dynamic vocals on stages across Australia and internationally — from cruise ships to cabaret and film sets. Her music can be heard in the feature film Carmen & Bolude, in which she also appears as Juanita (available on Prime).

Olivia is thrilled to be returning once again to the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, premiering A Musical Affair with her fiancé Jake Tyler!

Jake is an Australian actor, singer, director, and songwriter, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Music. He has shared the stage with music icons including Adele on her Australian tour and American composer John Bucchino. Jake went on to star as Munkustrap in the New Zealand tour of Cats The Musical and has performed with Opera Australia, the Australian Shakespeare Company, and internationally acclaimed act The Tap Pack.

He has also appeared in numerous national television commercials and on screen in the hit drama A Place to Call Home.

His stage credits include the original Australian production of Rebel Wilson and Hannah Riley’s The Deb (ATYP), originating the role of George in Fergus Ferry The Musical Live, and touring nationally and internationally as the gentle giant in CDP’s beloved The Gruffalo. Most recently, he appeared alongside his fiancé Olivia Vásquez as a guest act in Judy with Little Triangle at the Hayes Theatre.

As a director, Jake earned a Broadway World Award nomination for Heathers The Musical at the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre. He is also a recording artist, with his debut EP The Golden Age Project (co-written and co-produced with artist Tuscan) now streaming worldwide.
