Penrith Symphony Orchestra’s 2026 season presents an exquisite blend of orchestral masterpieces, blockbusters and lesser-known gems, all presented at our wonderful local venue, the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre.
The Symphonic Series charts a course through a series of distinct programs, opening with the shimmering beauty of Prokofiev’s first violin concerto and audience favourite Swan Lake. The Movie concert returns, with a selection of music from the screen, with following concerts showcasing great classics and wonderful soloists. Aiko Goto, from the Australian Chamber Orchestra performs Beethoven’s monumental violin concerto, whilst Vatche Jambazian will thrill with his virtuosity and flair in Liszt’s Totentanz.
It is incredibly exciting to bring a concert performance of Tosca to Western Sydney. Puccini’s masterpiece enthrals with its gripping storyline, brought to life through an electrifying score and talented cast.
Alongside the orchestra’s own talented musicians, PSO continues to support and showcase emerging artists; as soloists, ensemble players, and with projects such as the Jenny Bounds Young Composer Prize. These initiatives are critical in bringing new and vibrant music to the concert stage in Western Sydney.
Regular favourites also return in 2026, from Emily Who, with a brand-new show for Pops for Tots, Around the World, and the tradition of Handel’s Messiah closing out the musical year.
