Opened in 1990 with a community celebration and a gala performance by Dame Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge, The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre has long been a cultural anchor for Penrith and Western Sydney.
Originally home to the Penrith Conservatorium of Music, the Richard Bonynge Concert Hall and the Allan Mullins Studio, The Joan expanded in 2005 to include the Q Theatre, upgraded Conservatorium facilities and a new atrium foyer, marking its evolution into a major performing arts hub.
