An Apology from Us

Dear Joan patrons

Those of you who attended Go Your Own Way will know that we experienced an air conditioning failure on the evening of 20 January.

First of all, let me apologise for any inconvenience experienced on the night with uncomfortable temperatures and slippery floors.

But you may be wondering what happened? I can assure you this was not a cost saving measure – but a sudden and unexpected system fault.

As you may know, our venue’s air-conditioning system is managed and controlled by Penrith City Council, and at present Council is upgrading and replacing the system right across the building. This includes a whole heap of complicated engineering details that I won’t even pretend to understand.

On the 20th something went wrong – but the system indicators did not register the fault – indicating all systems were working normally. Since then we have been working closely with Council to identify the cause of the failure and on communications protocols to ensure it does not happen again.

Thank you for your patience and loyalty, we are grateful to have you as part of The Joan’s community.

Yours sincerely

Hania Radvan
