Tea for Two

Presented by The Joan

Tea for Two is the support act for Nine to Five – Leonie Cohen & Nicky Crayson Quartet – as part of the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Fest at The Joan.

Tea for Two consists of musicians Alina Grace and Louis Carroll, who cover timeless jazz classics with their rich and honeyed sound, providing a laid back and vibrant atmosphere.

Alina has written four studio albums and has performed at The Joan as part of the Live and Local: Open Fridays program. In 2023, she won the inaugural Best in the West singer-songwriter competition with her song The Man in the Painting. Louis has had extensive experience working with Blue Mountains Musical Society both on stage and within the orchestra.

Both musicians have a consistent and prominent presence within the gigging scene in the Blue Mountains and greater Sydney. Driven by passion and love for the music they produce and share with others, the duo has written and recorded numerous songs together and are planning to release an album soon.

ABOUT SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S JAZZ FEST

Discover some of Sydney’s finest female jazz artists, pushing the boundaries of intimate and improvised music right here at The Joan, as we present an amazing triple bill in the Borland Foyer and Mullins Studio venues on Friday 25th October.

At 6.00pm local Penrith smooth jazz duo Tea for Two, featuring singer-songwriter Alina Grace, will get things started in the Borland Foyer in support of Nine to Five – Leonie Cohen & Nicky Crayson Quartet, who will take to the same stage at 7.15pm for a sassy set of jazz standards, 80s tunes and originals.

At 8.30pm, we move to the Mullins Studio for an intimate and exotic audience with the Zela Margossian Trio, featuring Armenian traditional music, melded with jazz and classical roots. Relax, sit back and enjoy a heady night of jazz at The Joan as a couple or with a group of friends, accompanied by a premium selection of drinks and other delectable delights from the Borland Bar.

This year’s Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival will feature a huge dynamic array of music across six umbrella venues – The Joan, Gladstone Hotel, Lazybones, Butchers Brew, Manly Gallery and Church St Studios. Support your local music venue and experience the best of jazz.
