Jewish Emancipation and Music

At the beginning of Christianity, this new religion based their music on the sounds of the Jewish liturgy. But from then to the 19th century we see no musical influences by Jewish musicians. After the Jewish emancipation at the turn of the 19th century, Jewish composers had a profound effect on Western music with many of the musical movements throughout the 19th and 20th centuries being led by Jewish musicians.
