In Mort’s village everything has its place, every day is the same and everyone likes it that way. Mort is content living in a tree that produces molly melons for him to eat when it rains and playing with fluffy yellow balls called ‘fuzzles’. Until, one morning, Beep the robot lands in town – ‘Crash! Boom! Bang!’
Who is this noisy stranger that has interrupted Mort’s breakfast molly melon? How will Beep find her way home?
Featuring Windmill’s trademark design, gentle storytelling, music and puppetry, Beep is a beautiful introduction to theatre, guaranteed to spark the imaginations of young audiences.

A Handy Guide to Attending the Theatre
Attending the theatre is a magical and exciting experience for all ages. For some of your students, an excursion to The Joan may be their first time seeing live theatre. To ensure you have a positive and memorable time, we have put together a Handy Guide of tips to discuss with your students prior to attending a show.

Accessible Performances
Relaxed Performance and Sensory Guide

What is a Relaxed Performance?
Relaxed performances, screenings or events are designed to reduce anxiety and create a supportive atmosphere for patrons with autism spectrum conditions, learning disability and other sensory and communication needs. There is a relaxed attitude to regular theatre etiquette, such as noise and movement among the audience.
Modifications will differ depending on the event, but can include:
- The doors to the theatre, gallery or venue space being left open to allow audience members to enter and exit as needed; and
- Noise and movement and light and sound effects being toned down or removed.
Where possible, a Visual Story and/or Sensory Guide is provided prior to a Relaxed Event to further assist teachers and students in preparing for their excursion.
What is a Sensory Guide?
A Sensory Guide provides teachers and students/parents and children with a breakdown of sensory triggers throughout the event and when to expect them. These may include audience participation and interaction, changes in lighting and sound or specials effects such as haze.
