Annual Youth Theatre Festival 2022

A celebration of talented young theatre makers from our local region

Join us for the 30th Anniversary of our annual key theatre event, the Annual Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF) – A celebration of learning and professional theatre-making, featuring original performances by students from local high schools.

This year’s theme is The Butterfly Effect. As part of the festival, each school group has been paired up with a professional theatre artist to direct and guide the performance development, rehearsal and finale, which will be performed on Q Theatre’s professional stage in front of an audience.

For over 30 years, Q Theatre has invited students to gain direct experience working in a professional theatre-making environment and providing pathways for many into theatre careers in Penrith, greater Western Sydney and beyond. AYTF continues this long-running tradition.

This year’s participating schools include Blaxland High School, Blue Mountains Grammar, Glenmore Park High School, Kingswood High School, Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School, Springwood High School and Wycliffe Christian School.
