Penrith Symphony Orchestra

Orchestra-in-Residence at The Joan.

The orchestra collaborates with distinguished conductors and soloists, and is recognised as one of Australia’s leading “pro-am” community orchestras.

Penrith Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents an exciting and dynamic season in 2024.

The Symphonic Series showcases some of the greatest feats of orchestration, opening the year with Rimsky-Korsakov’s captivating Scheherazade, with further highlights including Mussorgsky’s glorious Pictures at an Exhibition and the exquisite Enigma Variations.

Continuing our commitment to fostering emerging talent, local musicians and new music, PSO is joined by exciting young soloists throughout the year, and will premiere new works through the two featured composer prizes.

Traditions are well maintained, with Peter and the Wolf returning to the Children’s Concert, alongside our 2024 Special Event Concerts, including the movie magic of the Cinema Concert, an Opera Gala with four wonderful soloists, and the Christmas favourite, Handel’s Messiah.
